Yes and if they dont, then their social security cheques should be stopped - there is enough litter to pick and fences to mend and grass to be cut and schools and government buildings to be painted ... thats a start

I agree with this post, even if they were only made to do 10 hours a week it would make a difference to the environment thumbs up

Well, suppose exceptions would be made for them though I find some with terminal illnesses awe inspiring, such as Jane Tomlinson who did all the triathlons when she was very ill, puts a lot of the healthy ones to shame she does, in my opinion anyway uk

I dont think 'all' people should be made to do community service, people that are looking after children etc.. shouldn't... but i think people that are just too lazy to get a job and watch Jermomy Kyle every morning and just laze around should be made to, they should do like spot checks or somthing. be a better place.

Definitely! Although, it would certainly depend on their circumstances. There's also jobs they could do from home. Far too many people sit idle believing that the world owes them a living and live comfortably off the state. Many are so comfortable that they lose sight of any aspirations they may have had and are just content to live in this comfort zone. Having said that, the country has done little over the years to discourage this. Council flats for pregnant women, ex cons, druggies and immigrants subsidised by the government, benefits for all, no council tax to pay........the list goes on. In fact, the ordinary single person doesn't stand much of a chance these days. If you're looking to settle down then you have to pay extortionate prices for housing all over the country since the council won't even consider you unless you fall into any of the catagories mentioned. Unemployment is very much an easy option. I'd even go as far as suggesting that those who leave school without qualifacations are called for national service unless they have (or are ACTIVELY) seeking work or further education. I know some will strongly disagree but like it or not that's my personal opinion.
