I think it takes a LOT. there are all kinds of wacko bad drivers out there. I know a guy who got caught DUI 4 times and they kept giving his licence back even after he had accidents.

It may be different state to state. New laws were just put into effect here (Virginia). I believe now 1st offense DUI they give you a restricted license and a $1500 - $5000 fine. Speeding tickets have gone up dramically, especially if you are cited for reckless driving. Your insurance company can drop you also in addition to getting your license pulled. Check with your local DMV and/or your insurance company.

In Nevada I believe its 12 points aginst your licence before the suspend it.
And it depends on the type of violation as to the amount of points imposed.
