Strange coincidences or meant to be?

About a year after I arrived in England many many years ago someone bought me a box of Black Magic chocolates (very unusual choice).

I will be living England in about one month's time and today at work, one of my students gave my a huge box of Black Magic chocolates (very unusual choice still as there are so many varieties of modern ones)!

How weird is that?

Not weird at all, says I.

Co-incidences... miracles .... "chance" encounters ... delays in journeys ... all have meaning in Life. You just got to learn to read the Sign Posts, and Life is a very enjoyable journey.

There is Nothing Evil in the World ... only what People interpret as such. If anyone wants to believe in evilness, then they got a very weird God who is not at all Powerful, and therefore not God at all.... Because the Great Creator made All Things, and being an Extremely Powerful Being that has been and will always be ... why should he/she create things that are "evil"?

I have had delays in journeys, that had I set off 10min earlier... the oncoming vehicle would have swerved into Me. Once an entire wheel off a caravan missed my window by a fraction. I had 3 blow-outs on a 200km journey, that were perfectly timed....

Nothing happens for nothing ... we just got to remember not to make a Religion out of It.

Just a little insight into Serendipity, Black magic chocolates now and then !!!

I still prefer the Dark ones, cool wink

Serendipity, how fortunate we can be when we accept the gifts we are given, the question of meaning is to be found in acceptance. The meaning of repetitive serendipity may just be coincidence, no matter, accept and enjoy…

When sailors came across what we now know as Sri Lanka that was known as many other names the Arabic name serendipity was taken as being a gift that was fortuitous, wow how uncomplicated is that.

I have always looked upon serendipity as a wonderful expression of the unknown, fortuitous in nature if accepted in gratitude…

Arabic name of Sri Lanka. Also,Ser•en•dibPronunciation: (ser"un-deb').

1. come upon or found by accident; fortuitous: serendipitous scientific discoveries. ?2. of, pertaining to, or suggesting serendipity. ?3. good; beneficial; favorable: serendipitous weather for our vacation.

serendipity, good luck, fluke, good fortune

LOL; the magnificence of your sartorial splendour would make the models at a Paris fashion show cringe with envy! You could have left the old trailer in the background instead of airbrushing it out...%D

You know what is so off-putting: some kleptomaniacs actually think and call their pickings as 'seredipitous'. I read The New England Journal of Psychiatry occasionally and that is where I saw it. It made me think.

Serendip was indeed the name of Sri Lanka or Ceylon which name I grew up with - as named by the dutch. I salute you for your esoteric knowledge Paolo.

Soli, you got Arthur Koestler wrong. AK said that the word 'coincidence' was just a descriptive word - it offers no explanation. Like when we say star - the word itself doesnt suggest anything about what a star actually is. So while coincidences are routinely happening, and people tend to shrug their shoulders and say 'ah coincidendence', it has left them no wiser.smile

Serendipity cannot be used as anything but something indicating fortune. Escaping narrowly an accident is a 'lesson in life'.

Snowflower, you are a popular and loved teacher. And pupils, for some boneheaded reason, show their appreciation the same way again and again
