Went in April of this year....Make sure you get away from the big cities and see the country side. I fell in love with Whitby England. A wonderful fishing village on the North Sea...and...Castleton.. just a bit outside of Sheffield. Tiny little village, beautiful and some great mines to explore...If you can get to Scotland....do not miss Luss... a small village on Loch Lomand...I guess you can see I really enjoyed the country side...People are wonderful and the sites are breathtaking !
A week is not long enough Ojazos. I've spoken to many here that have mentioned a vacation there. I'm still surprised at the, "OK, what do we do in the second week" tone.
Good advice from jag1024, see the big city, see the touristy things and then get the hell outa there and see the proper country.
Make sure you get across to Ireland. I understand there are some nice people over there living in a beautiful country.
There's no heritage here as such, but it's across the water wherever you look.
I believe it's best viewed by canoe at the moment, so don't forget your water wings to go with that bikini,LOL!!

A week is NOT very long to see everything. Where is your starting point? I went last year and started out in Manchester as my starting point. From there, I immediately went to Darlington. It was a week of experiences I never had before and exploring places like Richmond, Barnard Castle and Durham. I came back home with tons of wonderful pictures and another ton of missed photo opportunities, along with a sense that I really have limited myself to my own little world. Would I do it again? Absolutely, as soon as I save up enough money for airfare and some expenses. I just couldn't fit in visits to all my friends in the UK in 1 week.
