Woken by a caterwaul
dampened by a sudden squall
deafened by a thunderball
a good start to the morning.

Kettle won't start boiling up
darn, just broke my favorite cup
next door someone kicks the pup
I'll take it as a warning

Time to go back to my bed
reset the timepiece in my head
moments undone and words unsaid
a new day is aborning!

I can start my day over at any time, I can start my day over at any time, I can start my....

Oh! Good morning all!

Googled it for ya.......

Iambic pentameter is a meter in poetry. It refers to a line consisting of five iambic feet. The word "pentameter" simply means that there are five feet in the line; iambic pentameter is a line comprising five iambs. Iambic pentameter also has to do with the number of syllables in each line.

These terms originally applied to the quantitative meter of Classical Greek poetry, in which an iamb consisted of a short syllable followed by a long syllable. In the ancient poetry, however, no "iambic pentameter" exists; also, if it had existed, a verse would consist of ten (not five) iambic feet, just like the iambic trimeter consists of six ones.

The term was adopted to describe the equivalent meter in English accentual-syllabic verse, where an iamb refers to an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable. Iambic rhythms come relatively naturally in English. Iambic pentameter is among the most common metrical forms in English poetry: it is used in many of the major English poetic forms, including blank verse, the heroic couplet, and some of the traditional rhymed stanza forms
