As an employer health insurance is the second largest expense that we have. It dwarfs everything in comparison with the exception of salaries. It's more than new equipment, furniture and fixtures, lease payments, etc. And now we have to offload more and more of that burden on to the employees.

I am not sure if there's an easy solution. This country's not ready for some form of national health insurance and I doubt it ever will be. You'll see people rejecting any role of the government in health care, feeling secure in their employer provided health insurance. What these people don't realize is that between them and the abyss are just a few paychecks.

I bet it is. I can't see the government handling all health care, just too many people here. Also the fact that everyone loves to sue,and try to make thier millions that way. Makes it tough affording coverage for those of us with children and ex husbands who do not work and refuse to help out with any expense for the children.
I live from paycheck to paycheck. If I cannot work,it's gonna get damn cold in my tent this winter.

Well to those in the states,
I recently was tipped off about a program that Wal-marts has (I hate the place too) 4.00 dollar prescriptions for most commonly used medications. (generic). But my monthly med bill is a over a weeks salary. So this little change from a national drug store change has saved me considerablly .

I went online checked my scripts got the list contacted my doctor and said "HEY can I take these instead"...explained the situation he changed my scripts saving 300dollars a month now. If only he'd let me phone in my question ....

Still had to pay for the office visit.crying
