We installed two links on the Profile Page underneath the orange "Favorite Her/Him" button. These same two links also appear under a member’s photo in the Forums pages.

. "View Threads" - gives you a list of all the thread names that the member has posted to.
. "View Posts" - gives you a list of only that member’s posts, throughout the Forums, taken out of the various threads.

LL187 mentioned that it would be nice to have a link to view a member's most recent post...so this change was inspired by that feedback. The “View Threads” link will bring you to the member's most recent post followed by the entire history of their posts.

We appreciate your feedback guys, keep it up!

Oh, and you may have noticed that we have also installed a new navigation bar for Forum-related links. It appears on most pages of the site and includes:

. “My Forums”–view the threads you yourself have posted to. This link appears only when you are logged into the site.
. “Newest Threads” - view a page of brand new threads that have just been added. Check them out!
. “Start a New Thread” – takes you to a page to create a brand new thread with a topic you would like to discuss with members
. All Threads – gives a list of all the threads in the Forums starting with the most recent on top.
. Forum Posters – shows you all members who have posted in the Forums.
. Forum Site Map – shows all the main categories of the threads and how threads break down under those categories.

TallB

p.s. I see a lot of you changing your photos… so I decided to climb on the bandwagon. :)

Mercy TallB, that photo is so stimulating
I was unable to concentrate on the substance
of your announcement. Spare me, please!

Having said that, calling "All Categories"
a Forum Site Map does make some sense but dos
not make it quite what the Phoenix wanted when categories came out or what I wanted
earlier, which was really just the inverse map,
you know, given that there was a thread called
Book Chat, where would I find it, what category.
Sorry for not making that clear.

Thanks LL, I'm blushing :)

I just put a new column on the "All Threads" page that shows the Category for that thread. That category is a link that will take you to a list of all the threads in that category.

Hope this accomplishes what you meant

Well, yes and no, TallB, thanks for the work on that,
it is not what I had in mind, but does some of what
I had in mind and an a bit more. It is certainly
useful. But it depends on you having the thread at
hand. You need to know where it is. But where, for
instance is that Internet Fraudsters thread? On page
N for some small integer N, no doubt, and in some
non-empty category, I suspect. But where, precisely.
A simple alphabetical list or even better a permuterm
or keyword-in-context KWIC index or both would help
find the missing thread, which are getting harder and
harder to find. I had imagined that list then saying
which category it was in, but now just a link would
suffice, and we could get the category from your useful
column -- for which I thank you.
