Well, he is not a vegetarian, thank goodness!

And he is not very conventional either.

I want to wine and dine. A friend recommended finger foods, but I can't even think of any of them!

Help!

here we do a lot of so called finger foods but they are all pasta based, of sausage rols etc.........are you going the full three course route?.........try lasagne, and zabajoni for dessert......italian dessert made with masala wine and egg yolks, you'll find the actual recipe with a google search..........french red wine.........St. Emilion is a favourite of mine

May I suggest the following

Starter: Swordfish with cranberry sause

Main Course: Duck with walnut based mash potatoes (as a base for the duck)and a rosemary or cutney sauce trickled round the the duck accompanied by crisp vegetables

or if you want to keep on with fish...

Salmon with a mint sause accompanied by crisp vegetables

Dessert: Moelleux au Chocolat… A French classic that literally melts in your mouth!!!

Choice of wine: Blue Nun.

try a different spaghetti sauce, fry the onions till golden brown, add mince meat, stirring continuously, add a glass of red wine, an oxo cube (crushed in water)....a little mixed herbs. mixed spice......keep stirring.......woucestershire sauce and brown sauce........stir for a few minutes and place into a saucepan on a low heat......stir in marrow fat peas and some already boiled potatoes.........keep stirring and on a low heat till almost all the waters has gone, you should be left with a thick sauce, serve with the spaghetti and a good red wine againlaugh If that don't work call me. I'll eat the spaghetti and drink the wine from from your body rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

=====================================================

Get several Chicken breasts, sear them on the Bar B Q grill but do not cook them completely,

A box of rice O roni Spanish rice, 1 can of diced tomatoes , if they have them with green chilies in them use those they are good.

And a pound of 3-4 cheese spanish cheese.

Make the rice dump the diced tomatoes in and let it simmer into it.
Once done line the bottom of a pan with the rice, place the seared chicken breasts on top and smother with the Mexican cheeses, bake in the oven at 350 fro 45 minutes.

Be yourself. Dont try to be something you are not. Maybe something you like yourself or your parents made and you liked yourself and you know how do do it. something simple of course first... Hungry man can eat anything... wine

I read this with pleasure until I came to the wine choice! Blue Nun is only slightly better than wine out of a box.
