My ex hubby and his GF went there for Christmas... they said it was great. (but expensive) The only thing he didn't like was when they were sunbathing on the beach people would come up and offer to sell them dope 
But other than that they liked it a lot.

place is fantastic if ya like diving ,its comercialised a lot in the last few years ,theres luxor trips n valley of the kings etc ,hotel complexes tend to be aa lil restrictive but one thing you should do is a night dive ,they usually end ith a bonfire n beach party,dinning out as gotten a lil expensive but if you want decent priced food just follow the locals away from the esplanade n nearer the back streets n market areas .
