Action Word...LOVE ( Archived) (12)

I've recently seen alot about love on this site. Such as the word, what does it feel like, etc.. Don't you think love is an action word? It needs to be expressed to maintain a relationship in all kinds of ways. Does anyone else agree? Flowers, touching, speaking, giving, expressing... It's actions isn't it?

Most deffinetly, to define love IS to show, tell, live, see, and feel. But without these, the mere word "love" is exactly that...just a word.

I agree 100% that Love is an action word. To say I love you to someone can have more than 1 meaning. I love my parents, my daughter, my friends. They are all love with different meanings, different actions.

When a woman says she loves me or I say I love you too her that involves more than just saying it.

A person needs to walk their talk when it comes to love...

From what I've been trained to understand, there are a variety of ways that love can be expressed or perceived by people.

Doing things for someone is called "visual" because you are "showing" them you love them by doing for them.

"Kinesthetic" is through touch; "auditory" is through words; and "gustatory" is through cooking for someone or feeding them.

My daughter is high visual and gustatory: she feels loved when I do things for her, like buy things for her or cook for her.

I am high kinesthetic and high auditory, which means that you can do all you want for me (like my soon-2-b-x did), but if you consistently speak to me or my children in an angry, hostile tone of voice ( " ") and you don't TELL me you love me in a sweet voice, often ( " didn't do) then I don't feel loved.

He was high visual, which meant that if we didn't DO a lot of things for him, he didn't feel loved.

What you're calling actions is the whole package of how people give or receive love, and different things "work" for different people.

The way we get into trouble is when we (unconsciously) gauge someone else's love for us based on our own "love strategy", and if it doesn't match, we think they don't love us.
