It is possible, but you and he, or he and she, have to be strong willed not to let friendship go into relationship, not an easy thing to do
I know some of these relationships. The point is always, that the friend is gay. Woman - gay man and vice versa.
My daughter had a friend when we lived in Israel and the biggest sort of fun they had was sittigg at the beach and checking out men togther....
Otherwise it is also possible (own experience) between straight men and women. I have a friend for more than 15 years and we worked and lived togther for some time without ever touching each other.

Either proposed situation is entirely possible. My best friend is male. Every best friend Ive ever had has been.
My Best friend is female, but my friends group consist of both, guys and girls...
In agreement with Jacko, got to watch it and keep a safe distance with male friends...when they start hugging you a bit too close

Actually, having male friends is quite beneficiary, especially when it comes to a practical advise on finances, cars, places to go etc. Oh!! and they can help you to move bodies as well

and you are right there... a friend is somebody you can call at 3 in the morning to moan about something and they won't hold it agains you even if you woke them up. a true friend is also someone who tells you you look awful in an outfit and a friend is also someone you can sit with and do absolutely nothing, just watch the clouds go by an not a word is said!

I've had some great platonic women friends, but unfortunately there are two risks...firstly it's secretly not platonic, and resentment creeps in from one side, or else more usually, as soon as the lady gets a boyfriend, you get dumped, either because she doesn't have any time anymore, or three's a crowd, or the boyfriend gets jealous....oh vey!!

Hallo Awesome, read the above note...but beyond that, a buddy is a buddy is a buddy...the best friendships can be forgiving and resilient....I have found platonic friendships to be somewhat more fragile...what's your experience, buddy?

is it possible for a male to have a female friend,in the same way as having a male friend?
