hello miss dragonfly!!

wave

there are a few helpful places in here
and some include forums
where one can connect specifically

theres an older book called the blended family i think?
also that term is *ahem* significant in here...
theres also a complete idiots guide to stepparenting

the biggest thing is that the adults have agreed
teamwork and boundaries

a child is like a dog-no matter their age
they relax only when the fences are strong
(boundaries) otherwise they are anxious and constantly test
they dont want to be and arent responsible for family dynamics

we must be agreed and keep a cool head
be consistent and unemotional when reminding

takes practice thats fer sure and we arent perfect
kids dont expect us to be-just loving
and consistency/clarity helps them relax and feel loved
even tho they dont realize it and will never thank you.

frustrated

I'm somewhat curious about this also. I'm at an age now where many of the woman I see online have kids. I like kids, but I'll admit its a bit daunting to consider going from having none, to say, having 2 that are already walking and talking:) Then there is the whole xmas/holiday/step dad in the picture.

Anyone stumble across any good articles or books about dating woman with children for single guys?

I have 4 step kids and believe me its not always easy. Just remember 1 thing, your not their DAD! and you can't replace him. Be yourself, I have found out that the kids enjoy having 2 Dads. It can also be something to be proud of!!

I am fortunate that the"Dad" is not in the picture..his choice

My Son is 12yrs old and has High Functioning Autism. We have been on our own before he was a year old. And when I say on our own..just the 2 of us until I met someone on here nearly a year ago. I am aware that it takes time for all of us to get used to this new way of living, but, can any of you who have walked this path before help me out in what to do and more importanly what NOT to do, in encouraging their relationship.
