jstreet610Benton Harbor, Michigan USA9 Threads 135 PostsLast week I was in the hospital for chest pains. There were some big changes on my EKG, but thankfully no heart enzymes. My dad had a heart attack when he was 40 and I have a few cousins my age that have already had to have bypass surgeries. I go in thursday morning for a stress test and ultrasound of my heart and am starting to get nervous. Any prayers or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

here's a hug for you and my prayers are with you. I know that heart disease can be a very scarey thing... i know this first hand. my ex husband is an awaiting heart transplant patient. They gave him a yr. to live without the transplant... we have been divorced over 2 yrs. and he is still waiting. Prayers do change things. I hope everything goes well for you on Thurs. I will be thinking of you. Hope this helps a lil.Carla

First good sign...they let you out of the hospital. If you were in immediate danger you would still be there. Second good sign...you're scared. That means you care and you want to stick around. Third good sign...you've got the prayers of people who care. My bets are on you. Hang in there.

Been working on eating right and exercise. I've lot 60 pounds since June. I'm having a real hard time with the smoking. I know I should quit and part of me wants to quit. Unforunately that part of me that likes smoking is not wanting to let go.

First relax.. and take a deep breath.. otherwise you will have abnormal readings. Those tests are not invasive. So take a deep breath and slowly release them and just relax So may God Bless you and help you calm down during the test. 
If you're still nervous, let the nurses know and so they can help you go through the test. They will know how to calm you.
