When I first started I used to go more than 2 hours (with sunscreen of course!!). But that was too long for me these days. Now I just go for 1 hour (30 minutes on my front and 30 minutes on my back). That's good enough for me...WITH SUNSCREEN/SUNBLOCK OF COURSE!!
I don't do any sunbathing at all now. I ruined my skin in the 1970s-1980s by laying out in the sun for about 8 hours a day wearing only coconut oil.
I did use the electric sunbeds last year but turned orange due to all the bronzers in the tanning creams. Plus, I really don't think they are good for the health all the radiation etc.
These days I just stick to the pale look or fake tans
I got a bad tan on my last trip. If you can see my pics, I got roasted. I’m naturally a light complexion. I usually stay long hours for a deep tan if I’m going to compete. Otherwise, I do my best to go easy on it.
I don't do any intentional tanning but I do spend as much time outdoors as I possibly can during the summer. My arms and head are well tanned by fall but the rest of my hide is pale white. I don't quite glow in the dark but I could hide in a snowstorm if I was naked.
Neither do I. We don't have beaches in this country, (well there are some) but they are crowded. Most have such a small back garden and you have no privacy. I call my back garden a stamp because it's so small.
