Hi Guys and Gals, I thought that I would update everyone! It is my Bday tomorrow and I know that I said I would be in the UK by now, but things have not gone as planned. I was just about to book and then an opportunity to have a full time job, (instead of "temping") came up, Oct. 1st. So, not being foolish and wanting to go with the flow, I signed on the dotted line (just a year)! But really I could quit anytime and the same for them. It has turned out to be a great experience so far though and I wanted to let you all know that I'm hoping to still make it over, but there will be a slight delay.
I've chatted with some very nice folks on this site and I highly recommend it to my friends. I've had such a great experience on this site, everyone is so respectful and down to earth. I havent found out all the day to day stuff that I wanted to know about life in the UK. I wanted to know where to go to get my social insurance number, I wanted to know how much rent to expect to pay in Devon, how easy or hard it might be to find a flat to rent, do you look for flats in the newsagents (like here) or do you go to a real estate agent. What are the normal bills like? Hydro, gas, cable. Any thoughts on this? My dream is still viable, just postponed.........

Hi Geordygurl wave

happy birthday For Tomorrow,
And CONGRTULATIONS on the new job cheering I hope all goes well for you.

I've found this information for you, re National Insurance Numbers.
You can apply for a National Insurance Number through your local Jobcentre Plus office.
For these applications you should telephone 0845 600 0643 (UK) between 8.00am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.

As far as utility bills go, they're too much laugh

Hope it helps a little wink

Obviously don't know you, but as someone who is also making plans to come back to the UK in December, I wish you all the best. Good luck with the job too. You're young enough to delay by a year... enjoy it!!

Thanx, I'm making goals to aim for, I find that it helps me focus, most of the time things start happening. I'm really enjoying the new job, but most of all everyday is a new day and I'm learning so much, just when you think you know it all lol :)
