Most men constantly accuse women who want financial stability in a guy of being materialistic. Well, i do know that love is what matters most in a relationship but who really wants their children to suffer because their parents can't afford the basic things in life? Who doesn't want their children to have a better life than they did?
Men without wealth aren't losers to me. Loser are the ones who will do nothing to better their lives on grounds of education or struggling to make ends meet not being their 'thing'.
I don't want a millionare but a man who will try the hardest to give himself and his family a comfortable life.
Reminds me of Kanye West's "...i ain't saying she a golddigger, but she ain't messing with no broke....."

What's your view on this?

You have an elightened perspective on life,.....and, speaking for myself,...it DOES matter to me that I am able to provide,....from all perspectives,...emotionally, physically AND financially!! If children are throw into the fray, then, from my perspective, they, and the concept of family, become of prime importance.

The problem I see today is that some people actually believe that the world owes them a living,....

Such is the way of life since the beginning of time,....

Exactly!

I have seen many couples live in abject poverty in Kenya yet continue to have kids. Insane that is!
Love is everything but it won't put food on the table.
Who are we kidding, love is all about so many other things like trust, security and peace.
I don't see how we'll make love on empty stomachs!
Speaking of which, need a cuppa.

With such perspective ... men or women need to stay alone.

conversing

I would consider it as egoism conversing

koniigsberg,..

I am confused. is it wrong for a man to want to care? To provide? To put family before self? Why should I remain alone because I wish to care and provide for those I care for?

To put myself before others I would consider to be egotistical,...

Please explain,....

I don't thinks there's anything wrong with a woman wanting a man that is financially sound, independent, or for that matter, employed. That's not being materialistic, that is being smart.

In my neck of the woods, however, I hear women all the time describe men by where they live (ritzy address) or what they do (he's loaded), and not necessarily who they are.

That's my (admittedly jaded) two cents. smoking

A stuggler is what is needed.Someone who cares about financial stability for the family.

But we find a lot of ladies who do nothing and men looking for those kinds to feel more of a man.Maybe it's not wrong...maybe but just a different packagelaugh

There are a lot of middle-aged teenagers running around here. Can't wait for prom season.

Someone living in the park is probably unemployed, yes? That runs a bit counter to what I was saying...roll eyes

I did not really mean to type "I thinks." I hate typos grin

Hey konisberg!

I am now relaxing! :-)

I guess the "world doesn't owe anyone a living" came from my farmboy raising! If I wanted to eat, I had to work! And if I didn't work, I didn't eat.

Nice to meet you.

Mort

That's exactly what I mean .... we have to have be responsible for paying bills and keeping our families in comfort ... not a spledid one yet cozy and warm. In case to do so we must work. Money do not follow from the sky.

conversing

Nice to meet you too Mort (is it short version from Mortal? Just curious I am handshake wine grin
