Some of you that know me well also know that I'm a bit jaded and cynical about life here in Southern California. I suppose a number of my posts reflect this. I've been here some five years now.
Still, the weather permitted a motorcycle ride in this morning - so there's something good to be said about it. I parked in my typical spot in the parking garage, and per my morning ritual, lit up a cig before going into the office, to quietly contemplate the day ahead.
An Acura CL pulled up. The professional auto expert in me wondered why anyone would pay good money for a bloated Honda Accord coupe, a notion I quickly let go, since there was not much I could do about it anyway. But there was something else I noticed.
The rear license plate was hanging by a single bolt. Ever the Good Samaritan, I prepared to point this out to the driver.
She emerged from the car. An attractive woman. Check that, VERY attractive. Probably, like so many around here, high-maintenance. She was digging in her purse for what I guessed would be a cell phone. At least she was not talking in the car. We of two-wheeled transport like this sort of thing.
Undaunted, I got out the polite "excuse me," and pointed out the plate. Her reaction surprised me.
She could not have been nicer, and appreciative. A big smile and big thank you. Warm. Kind.
Ever tactful, I refrained from offering her a screw.
I finished my smoke with a little introspection. Things are not always as they appear. My oft judgemental stance is not a good thing, at all. I should lighten up. Relax.

Thanks for the nice story. Needed to hear something like this today. It is just past 3pm here, day almost done.
It has not been a good or bad one, but it is nice to sit and reflect on something that is small but so true. Your post has energised me so that I can finish my day in a more positive way.
absolutely, you are right on a point Robert ....... first meeting attidute is always a fake one. Let's be realistic. Shall we?
And you know that's funny ... cause people have tendecy to behave until you say,( out of the blue) You are moron Oh Hell! .... then you know what is a real nature of a person is

I learn one thing in life. You do not need to develop any attitude where ever you live or do.... Always be yourself , and if the people around dont like it, well its their loss, because Im sure others will do!
