I don't know, Arabella, but I have this sudden hankering to take up tupperware collecting or something...
Seriously, music -- specifically, writing songs -- is probably my number one hobby (hence the organ prominently featured in many of my profile photos).
I'm trying to write a song as we speak combining chickens and Tupperware, but that could take awhile, Arabella. I'll be sure to send you the CD when I finish!

I use to weigh 340 lbs. I lost 120 last year by walking twice a day. I broke my arm badly this summer, and could not walk, so I gained 50 lbs back. But I am back to walking again 16 miles a day.
It has become a hobby for me. I can't go a day without doing it...I love to walk (living at the beach helps the scenery alot). Can walking be considered a hobby?
Wow, where do I start? Buckskinning (mountainman stuff) living history, nearly anything having to do with the outdoors, experimental archeology, (The practice of putting one's self as closely as possible into a given historical time period, then using only the tools/materials available at the time to exist for an extended time.) reading, writing for publication, writing for fun, and making up new nicknames for our critter kids.
I have chickens too! A Plymouth Rock, a Rhode Island Red, A Mexican Fighting Hen (can't think of the proper name at the moment, very sleepy, sorry!) A Buff Orpington and a Barred Rock. My rooster is part Mexican Fighting and part Bantam.
I also enjoy reading, reading and writing poetry, exploring old castles and cemetaries, rugby (played for fun as a kid), going to the track to watch some top fuel high adrenaline drag racing ,horseback riding, swimming, shooting pool (snooker to our UK friends), and relaxing with friends and family to name but a few of my hobbies.

They're my hobby - I show them at poultry shows, incubate eggs for new stock & hybrid vigor and just try to raise wonderful bantam chickens.
I think hobbies are great - a good way to relax and have an interest outside of work and day-to-day chores.
Does anyone else have a long term hobby that they enjoy??
