I was born in USSR and maybe that's why I'm bothered more then others. I don't face class divisions often but when I do it make my blood boil. I don't have a problem if someone make more then me. I make enough to keep me happy. What bother me is that some people think they are better then us. I work as electrician. Right now we're building addition to main hospital. I most defiantly enjoy what I do otherwise I would not be doing it. It's a major project and there are over 500 people on a job of various trades. On friday we ware told construction workers ware not allowed to be in front of the building we're building because some "important people" was visiting museum of the confederacy. We're not allowed in hospital cafeteria at all. Only other close option is McDonalds. We're good enough to build roofs over your heads but not good enough to eat in a same place?!?! This is a land of the free isn't it or have I been misinformed by the commercials?

That's common place. There's a variety of reasons for not letting people roam the buildings at a hospital complex. One only being liability issues.

At most construction sites (hospital or otherwise), construction crews aren't allowed to use the "facilities". I really don't think it's a class issue.

America is full of class separation, we are just more subtle about it!!

That's why I have told several women on this site, I was not interested, because thay are out of my league.

Even within the classes, there are those who feel they are better low class people than others. A lot of poor people who live in government subsidized housing look down their noses at people who live in mobile homes....that sort of thing

There are all types of people in the USA, some bad and some good. The world is to wrapped up in putting others down for one reason or the other. But you will find just as many good people as bad. This is the land of the free.....even the freedom to be a jeck. Don't worry about it, we all have someone that looks down at us.

I am a person that has as much respect for a man picking up cola cans as I do the Governer of the state....if each are doing their best.

Hired people of all kinds come second to the people that might be financing the project. It is the money they respect! Just the way it is for all of us.

Welcome!

The Western world governments have put out the face of freedom, but have undermined the true freedom of it's various peoples to such a degree that we have accepted their lordship. They constantly tighten their manipulative grip on us choking out more and more in money and in spirit. Then they give us thirty second blogs to inform us of how much better we havie than so and so, and then condition us with meaningless television programs and soothe us with whatever entertainment we desire, just to keep us complacent.
What they ask of you is fundamentally wrong but accepted by the masses.

Sorry buddy, no more freedom here than anywhere else.

Mark
Enjoy it though cause the scenery is awesome and there are many good people enough to help forget the larger picture.

There is a saying!

Life is a garbage sandwich.....the more bread you have the less garbage you have to eat.

(Bread is a slang for money)

I may stand corrected, but I think even in "classless" Russia, they have/had classes. It's human nature everywhere. I wouldn't want everyone totally equal.

Equal opportunity, yes..... equal outcomes for all, no.

Been there Z~

I too have stories about how Hospitals behave towards it's laborers.
Downright shameful, it is. I had one lady go so far as to grab my leg while I was perched 5' in the air on a thin ledge! That one pushed me to snap at her...

"It's a good thing this is a hospital because if anyone of my crew falls because of you, one of us is going to need it!!"

They tend to forget the people who aren't wearing little white coats & writing prescriptions are still part of making the place work.
dunno

...*sigh... I remember USSR.
Such a lovely place for the conditions I saw back then.

In my opinion if any kind of behavior is tolerated long enough it will become excepted.
If I get disrespected I have the capacity to show the meaning of humiliation to just about anyone. Scary thing is I don't give a rat who it is... might see me on evening news cursing out a cop devil
