Has anyone heard about the Ipperwash riot?

Although I heard some coverage of this, it was not nearly as media hyped as OKA...

well It happend in '95. South of Ontario off of lake huron. It happend because a small band of kettle and stoney point natives were trying to protect ancient burial grounds. Im not sure if it was oka but there was also a riot because the business or government wanted to turn the land into a golf course. Ipperwash though was invaded by 40 riot squad members killing a young man all natives were unarmed. There was a documetery movie released called "one dead Indian" The riot happend when mike harris was in office, he was caught saying " I want the F___ing indians outa that park. so some hot headed opp officers went nuts and shot at a man dudely george, they tried to say he was armed but he was only carring a walking stick later found. tragic and pisses me off! anyways im just doing an essay on it and thought someone mite have input.

What words can possibly ease the hurt and loss of family and friends. When it is the act of a few stupid selfish greedy individuals.

A possible perspective to take is how many others time has this happened. and compoare the similiarities, don't limited yourself to that region alone or group of Indians..
