Has anybody met up with anyone ( Archived) (24)

Not met any face to face from here yet, but with other sites in the last 8 years or so I've probably met close to 30 or 40 for the first meeting. Many have been halfway across the country so distance is always a problem, a few I have had second dates with and a couple I've had 6 month or longer relationships. Just haven't found a right one yet. I'm sure I've talked to probably a dozen right ones (wish I knew which ones they where) but something just didn't go right, maybe a lost email (email with a new friend is very fickle, often one lost email and it's all over, each is waiting for the other to respond) It's a good idea to send that extra "what happened?" email when your in that waiting mode. The couple long relationships where close but just not right. It's real tough when you get older to find somebody that's fits the niche you have carved out, when you're younger we were very mold-able and we met and hopefully grow up together molding ourselves to fit each other, now that we have determined who we will be it's much more difficult to find a match.

I was almost married to one of them but the mother in law put an end to that. She decided that I was too old for her precious daughter. We had dated for over 6 months and were very happy and long on the road to being a happy family. She had two great kids. The mother in law (AKA a real B, in my book) had some money and threatened to take her out of the will. The daughter caved in to the pressure to keep grandma happy for the kids. Life is full of twists and turns.

Kids and grandma cloud the picture a little. It was not an easy decision for her that's for sure. It casued many tears and words.
