I think my favourite was seeing YES in Vancouver with the Van Symphony Orchestra in 2001? kind of a blur!
...I met the drummer Alan White after the show and he gave me an autograph, which was a real thrill!

I have been extremely fortunate to have gotten to play bass for some of Regina's best guitar players...so lots of memorable nights for me.

I've seen Wakeman,....but never YES! That would have been wild! And Cockburn,....a Canadian LEGEND!

And you do what I can only dream of,....you play!

What's killin' me these days is the COST! Concerts used to be affordable,....saw Suzi Quattro for $4.50 when she fronted Alice Cooper,.....nowadays, with the commute in, something to eat, and heaven forbid, a DATE, I find myself taking out a second mortgage! I have to be far more choosy these days,....

I have seen tons of shows, most recently of course VELVET REVOLVER and got a couple autographs from them too...GREAT SHOW! and we took a limo there and back.
I have done that for the last few concerts and it is definitely the way to go. It makes the whole evening about a $200 night but I only go to a few shows a year so I will justify it somehow!

...other bands I've seen.....Scorpions, Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, The Wailers, Kiss, Twisted Sister, Paul McCartney, Streetheart (several times) Harlequin (this summer in Edmonton with Taz and Cap Murray and Brenda), Robert Cray, BB King, The Tragically Hip, Sam Roberts....

if I lived in Vancouver I would be broke going to great shows...there is someone great playing there all the time!

To go see YES was very expensive...air fare, rental car, tix in the 8th row ($150./each X 2...had to buy my friend a ticket for a room to stay in!) , drinks, t'shirts....about a $1000 weekend! but worth it, they are one of my all time favourite groups.

Impressive list!! Haven't been to one in awhile,....although, this small town actually does pull down some good shows, especially in the summer (Bachman, Bill Bourne, Streetheart)

I'd list what I've been to,....but it would actually take awhile! head banger Had a great time in Edmonton when Pink Floyd and the Stones came through,.....and next year down in cowtown when the Stones came back (and that WAS A GREAT SHOW - lots of their classics).....

Ah what the hell,.....let's see if I can remember,.....and I won't include the bands I saw at California Jam,...

T-Rex, Blue Oyster Cult, Goose Creek Symphony, ZZ Top, Alice Cooper, Suzi Quattro, Runaways, Scorpion, Van Halen, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Crosby/Stills and Nash, CSNY, Rolling Stones, Eagles, The Who, Shania Twain (still salavating over that one), Gordon Lightfoot, Dwight Yoakam, Neil Young, Lou Reed, Def Leppard, Long John Baldry, Muddy Waters with Koko Taylor, Collective Soul, Kurt Cobain, Marilyn Manson, The Hip, Stompin' Tom, Willie Nelson, Three Dog Night, Patti Smith, BB King, Chuck BerryLeonard Cohen, Rita McNeil (yeah, I know,....but when the miners walk in its still a moment!), Electric Light Orchestra, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton (wish I could have seen Cream!), Rick Wakeman, Melanie, Genesis, Police, Led Zeppelin (to date, the best show I have seen in Seattle - but Paul from Liverpool was pretty good too!), Ozzy, Prism, BTO, Guess Who, Avril Lavigne, Sammy Hagar (solo), Van Halen (Sammy and David days), Dolly Parton, Bill Munroe, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, Taj Mahal, Dave Wilcox, Johnny Winter, Ry Cooder, Santana, and,.....the list still goes on,.....no wonder I am sooooo broke!! rolling on the floor laughing And I didn't even get to Steve Vai (absolutely awesome concert),......and the Eurhytmics in New York, Procul Harem with the ESO (yup, there are some advantages to being old!)....and,....rolling on the floor laughing ,...and I would have loved to have seen Ella Fitzgerald,...and Elvis, and the Beatles,...and Hendrix, and,....yeah, I know, enough already!

There's just something about seeing it "live",......rolling on the floor laughing

The absolute best concert I ever saw was Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet band at Cobo Hall in Detroit. The man and his band are all from Michigan so maybe it was because they were sort of playing for their hometown fans because they really poured their heart and soul into it.

A close second was Kiss with special guests Cheap Trick when I was still living in the Moncton, NB area. Long time ago, they were still wearing their makeup back then and Gene Simmons was complete with long forked tongue, high heeled boots, and breathing fire. Good show!! dancing

Day-Glo Abortions@The Gaslight, Regina SK, about 3 years ago.

Small venue, up close and personal, very friendly crowd, and a mosh pit that left my friend with the biggest bruise I've ever seen. Had fun being mosh pit safety patrol, hauling people off the floor before they got trampled, and then throwing them right back into the pit.

and...

My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult@UofR, Regina SK, about 2 years ago.

This is a band that doesn't sound that great on cd, but puts on a hell of a live show. They opened for Ministry that night, and in my opinion, outperformed them by a longshot.
