Why is it that the U.S. is borrowing money from China to keep America running?

One day, all of America's money will be gone..then what?

How long does anyone think America can sustain itself at the rate it's spending money in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Things would have been a whole lot better if the powers that be would have left the idea of war on the table, and went with the original WORLDWIDE view that the world is ONE now in face of the current danger out there.

Somebody let that opportunity slip by to have a united front on possibly the very thing that is going to bring this planet to it's end.

Ya lost me on that stream of thought....

But...I would say that as the war "winds down"....and I think it is...the problems we face are much bigger than those costs.

We're will have a social security & medicare/cade crisis as the baby boomers age.

All government programs get bigger at almost an expotential rate and no one wants to kill a sacred cow...so we will be doomed...just not in my lifetime probably.

If governments had to budget money like a household...things would be a lot different.

It's a problem for both political parties.....basically buying off their constitutencies. A pox on both their houses!

Actually Indy, I was speaking of the worldwide few after what happened to New York. It seemed everyone was focused on what needed to be done, but someone with the power decided to invade another country.

Bad decision.

Two officials at leading Communist Party bodies have given interviews in recent days warning - for the first time - that Beijing may use its $1.33 trillion of foreign reserves as a political weapon to counter pressure from the US Congress. In other words, China may be running the US by financial proxy.

I've heard something to that effect too....

In the end, we're tearing ourselves down from within. No foreign country could do it. JMO

When I was a teenager, it was often thought that China would one day become the most powerful country in the world. That day has come.

The US spends 6 billion on its military each year, yet there is no standing army poised to attack the US.

My view only, but regardless of who is the next president, if we have another 9/11...I would suspect that will be WW III. Personally, I think the next attack will be bigger. And the response will be heavier. Even if Hillary becomes president.

The lead is for export only. And there's 1,321,851,888 Chinese, that would take a hell of a lot of lead painted toys.
