I have seen things simular to this before when I was an OTR Driver... I have never seen anything this bad...the fact that she was alive and myself or no one else could help her or stop her pain is what is getting to me

Squirly ... its terrible and wont be easy on you for a while ... the feeling of having been there and unable to do anything is real bad .... but sometimes u cant help at all ... try to get your head of the accident .. think of the woman and say a prayer in your mind for her peace !!!!!!
then try to get some sleep.. take a pill ( anxiety relieving ) it will help .

taken 2 already....each time I close my eyes...I see this girl writhing and hear her scream....Hell...I have even had several stiff drinks...no effect...

think you need to see a counsillor they always are very helpful towards people who have experienced shocka like that it must have been trully horrible to witness something as you did.

I experienced the exact same thing many years ago. It haunted me for a long time. Take solace in the fact that this person is no longer in pain and has moved on.

I agree with Detente, you may need to see a therapist. Maybe go to your doctor and he can recommend someone. Just be careful about taking any medication. Imassquirly, not knowing your faith or belief, pray for those involved, ask for peace of mind.

It happened. It's over. You witnessed it. Place it in perspective, people die daily in tragic situations. There was nothing you could have done to prevent it. But you have shared your pain with many, and that is all that may be expected of anyone.

But on the *Bright side*... thank your lucky stars you aren't a rescue worker who has to go through that almost 'daily'. (the unsung heroes.. who take these feelings home.. night after night after NIGHT)
