I believe you are right where the written word is. Not the funny back and forth comments but the serious comments you make like looking for a Christmas present for your kids. This gives a more insight into your personality.
Do we ever Reallllly know anyone?
No one can ever REALLY know someone, other than to the extent that they wish themselves to be known,...
With time and exposure, you get to know "more" about a person,...but really, we are all "island universes", visible but never properly defined.
Yes, "online" friendship has its own set of characteristic values,....but really, if you do not place expectations on these "meetings" they can indeed be not only enjoyable, but rewarding. Life is a journey to be travelled with a smile and a seeking of adventure. And yes, "face-to-face" is diffrent than the written word,.....but it is only another facet of the person,......

Not sure if i really know anyone here.. I mean not talking like best buddies tell my life story to...other than it might put up to sleep..but let me tell you if and when I get my butt out west there will be some msgs going out to gather a group together for some drinks...Scott you may be first...Regina is calling...well actually my brother but who cares...lol
Yes for sure if you come to Regina just send a little advance notice and I will try to make time for it! If we get a few CSer's out Ill organize a get together!
Don't really know anyone although I met a few of you once at one of the events and I do have a cyber friend in Ontario who I am corresponding with and getting to know better. 
Ooops, that's not quite true. One of my best friends is also on the site. 
Some I know more than others and some I will know for life.
Been through a few rough spots with some and we've helped each other out,may not be in constant touch but that's when you see who ur friends are.

We all think we are mildly intelligent and that we can read others personas from their comments, but the fact remains that we really know little about our online friends until they become real friends.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder especially where the written word is concerned!
