il let you off then...lol,well its tough out here, basra aint much of a nice place at this time of the year, getting rocket attacks daily, so its pretty nerve racking stuff, i just spent 7 weeks in El paso, texas training with the US army before coming here, im just gonna keep my head down i think.. lol, but god, id love a beer, havnt had a drink for 4 weeks!!!!
haha I'm sorry. and i guess i'll talk to you even though i'm boycotting all soildiers lol. I just got back from Arizona i was living down there for a couple months but it's good to be back home.
It all goes back to General Order #1 from the 1st gulf war. Yes, it pretty much sucks but we are soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines and our job is to salute smartly and press on. It's not fair that the higher ups break the rules but acting as they do only makes us like them. Get safely through your tour and have a cold one when you get back. The beer will still be there.
a**hole should share. Not like they work any harder than you do! And by all means, if they are in charge, and responsible for barking orders, THEY should be the ones staying sober even more so than you LOL

OMG!!! Thank you in many ways. One for helping to protect & serve all. Stay safe!!! Booze & bullets don't exactly mix. Maybe that's what the military are thinking.
Also thank you for the insight into my late husband's behavior and now my youngest son. My late husband served the military for 17 years and my youngest son, for 6 years. My late husband loved his drink, especially after he left the Navy. My youngest son, developed a love for his drink, especially after leaving the Navy. Maybe they were making up for the years of service. In the meantime, my youngest son has finally returned to Navy. Maybe he found life better disciplined in his love of drink.
Now, back to seriousness. Be safe and have an enjoyable Christmas, the best you can for the moment. We will have that bit of drink for you, just to keep you safe.

Yeah, me too.... what Autumn said!! It would be nice for you to have a beer or two, heaven knows you guys and girls deserve it, but I think they (and us) would rather you had your wits about you in such a dangerous situation.
We'd rather you came home safe and sound to your loved ones for the sake of a beer, yeah?
