This is a great question....maybe people have become more complicated because our lives have become so much easier.
100 years ago, peoples main concerns were how they were going to eat, and if they would survive the next flu. Today people worry much too much about who Jessica Simpson is dating. We have so much free time on our hands that we get lost in our own thoughts. We overanalyse things also.
How many self-help books are on the store shelves? It took only common sense before to find a mate. Now it takes Men is From Mars, Women are From Venus to get a clue....

Yes I agree.. I think we expect too much in a sense.. what happened to boy meets girl, girl meets boy if they like each other they just date and see what happens.. nowadays you would nearly need to lodge a resume to get a look in

I do agree but society is what makes it harder for the older generation look at whats offered the clothes the life style so much different now. Now say the least when you love or have feelings for someone nothing can stop you. Again who changes their old ways to make someone happy who uses todays life style for comfort.

Sure young men do it...we accept this idiocy from many hormonally fractious numbskull males.
