So met this guy a couple of months ago on this site actually. We talked by phone, and IM for a couple of months. Sent pics back and forth, webcammed and all that good stuff. We seemed to really hit it off. All our free moments were spent talking to eachother in one way or another. So I decided to go to visit him..... It was very dissapointing. All the chemistry we had was gone. This was my first time meeting someone who I had to get on a plane for. What the hell happened?

Understandable, but I had no idea that you could get along with someone so well on the phone but not in person. I would have imagined it would have been apparent after a few conversations. Now I know. I dont regret it one bit. It was the craziest thing I have ever done.
starliteisbrite: Can I ask what it is you thought happened to the chemistry upon meeting???
Well the first night was fine, great. Then the next day he played a dumb game on the computer all day except to take me out to eat. I need attention. A little pat on the leg doesnt do it for me.

Don't worry about it. I was in my 50's when it happened, twice.

Don't you see? the computer is the problem, step back from the monitor and go meet some real people.

So it was there for you ...until his true colors came shinning through I get it.....
I hope it hasn't steered you from trying again....:)

Doesn't have to happen like that ... The person I met up with after messages and a few phone conversations we clicked! But we met as soon as possible so that it was real rather than let it build up to be part illusion/part imagination ...
From that esperience of mine I would say meet as soon as possible so that what builds up is real!
