My personal preference is the swimmer or gymnast type body, V torso and long lean muscles rather then round bulgy muscles. And yes one of things that makes me swoon is well defined forearms...

At the moment I am going to the gym 5 days a week before I start work to lose weight and also keep fit. I have no intention of becoming mr vain aka mr beefcake. Once the belly goes I will be happy.

I agree with Domi.. looking after yourself is a good thing. Fit and toned is about my limit in the muscle dept really.

Male vanity is good fun. You’ve just got to have the right sense of humour to go with it. It’s the people who get serious about it that make it stupid, walking around the gym looking aggressive. I used to say, ‘Look, at the end of the day you shave all your body hair off and end up on a stage covered in baby oil in a pair of tiny little posing trunks and you’re walking around the gym pulsing your nostrils like a bull.'
As for vanity, it’s one to one and a half hours a day in the gym (4-5 days a week) to get in good shape. Most people sit in front of the TV with their brains half switched off for two/three hours a day. You get in shape, you have fun, you keep your body fit and healthy and strong. Simple as that.
It’s fantastic.
But when you start to impress other men, that’s when you know you’re taking it too far - in my experience.

But how much man IS too much man?
What do you prefer girls? The ripped look (would that you could know how hard it is to achieve and maintain this!)? The body-builder look - which means muscular and defined, well proportioned, but not ripped to the bone per se? (are body-builders a**hole?) Some muscularity? Some definition? No muscularity?
What looks good on a man? Chest? Forearms? Good legs (I have all of these, by the way…ha ha
What is thy preference? How much man is TOO much man?
