girlnextdormouse: Do you believe that we choose who we love? Or is loving someone something we have no control over?
In my past, if I "fell" in love with someone, it was almost always with a person that wasn't healthy for me. I would like to think that as I become a healthier person, I could have some say in who I choose to love. I don't know if it will work like that or not.
I believe that a lot of people can choose. It just hasn't worked for me that way so far.
If we can chose what attributes in a person to love, then yes we can and do choose who we love. In time we find that we just don't love the whole of them hence going seperate ways.
I do believe we have some power over that decision but not entirely...sometimes it creeps up on us when we least expect it...it can be just a smile, a brief moment where are fingers touch or a second when we look across and realise the person we have been spending time with has suddenly become more than just a beautiful friend.. Sometimes love seeks us out and overpowers our own control Love is reckless....its worst enemy is life!
constanza: We chose with whom to have a relationship; love itself isn't a choice or decision. It's a feeling; what we do about it is a choice.
well said!I also believe that there has to be a chemistry between too people and that 95% of the time love will happen when and where we lest expect it too and it's that kind of love that last...not the kind that we go searching for but the kind that just happens!
