ok, I just got this external hard drive and the instructions for attaching it to the computer look really straightforward - does anybody know what i do after that please?

What I thought I would be able to do is take everything off the c drive but have no idea how to go about this - on the box it says 'plug and play' but I dont want to do that before getting advice conversing

plug in your drive. right click my computer then choose management. click disk management and you'll see a list of devices. right click your new drive and choose format. full format is usually best. then you'll be able to drag files accross to store them

sure. if u want to backup the whole drive then follow the procedure for formatting. once it's formatted, double click my computer, right click the drive you want to backup, choose properties from teh drop down then choose the backup option. this will give you an option to backup your entire drive. advise to do a full virus scan before u backup though.
