Sorry to hear that. Don't think anyone can tell you what to expect really. All I can say is try to remember the good times, keep your chin up and stay strong.

Sorry for the pants reply, I'm naff at this type of thing..

All the best

Sorry to hear of your lose. I have been to quite a few funerals in my time both family and friends. there is no set way of dealing with them. Depending on how much you loved your Grandad it will be lots of crying and good words spoken about him.
After there will be a wake.(party for him) where everybody gets drunk.
and talks the best of him. There will be relatives you haven't seen for years and people who know you that you don't knowthem.
Funerals are like weddings in reverse. Where a wedding is happy, happy.
A funeral is sad then happy if that makes any sense. I will shut up now. confused

no manetho that is perfect what you said. first comes the sad part in the church/etc where you see the coffin sing some songs maybe and people or vicar talks about the person and their life. alot of people cry then cause that is the part where you are letting go and saying goodbye.
secong part the wake is happier because your loved on is gone and you remember the good times.

my grandad died on new years day this year and it is terribly sad i know but the funeral is the step to letting go and accepting what has happened yes it is sad but now i can move on if that makes sense.
i am sorry for you loss it is never nice to lose a loved one.comfort
