newnkeng: how can we solved the African proplem

I read some time ago that it would take a century for most of the problem areas to see a permanent peace and prosperity and that would only happen with the "correct" intervention from outside powers.

Africa has produced some of the most inspiring and thought provoking leaders and thinkers in this world, William Du Bois, Booker Washington, Frederick Douglass, Marcus Garvey, the list goes on and on, and it is the new leaders that are as yet unheard of and those as yet unborn that will continue to inspire all of us to learn how to bring about change.

In my own country Famine ended only A century and a half ago and we did not stop fighting our "Tribal Wars" until a decade ago. It took that long for all of us to realize that we were not fighting an outside enemy but fighting ourselves.

Look at a man with an Gun in his hands, Anger in his heart and Fear in his eyes and convince him of that, That is where a war is won.

tip hat

We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
- Albert Einstein

The whole cause of problems across Africa and elsewhere is European and US meddling over the last 200 years. More meddling won't solve problems, especially since the meddlers do it in their own "national interests" rather than those of African or other nations (e.g. Iraq).

Putting one's hands in or making comments without being asked isn't help, it's interference and annoyance. It also works better when the "help" is given by people respected by those being helped:

People will ask for help (or democracy, or anything) when they want it. Forcing it on them only makes things worse.

William Du Bois was born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Booker T. Washington was born in Hale's Ford, Virginia, Frederick Douglass was born in Maryland and Marcus Garvey was born in St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica.

Either way..they are not Africans..they are of African ancestry. I guess if I wanted to get technical I could declare myself an Irish, English, German, Danish, Bohemian, Austrian, native American..etc American but that would be a mouthful. When it comes down to it, I was born in America so that makes me just a plain old American..lol

Why do we always look at other countries as having problems if they are not like us? Last time I checked this usually means there is going to be a war.

Yes, I agree, A lot of problems have been caused from outside Africa, but not all. And we have seen what "bringing democracy" to countries can mean in recent events.

Staying with the OP that Newnkeng made, he does ask...........

To those people who pointed out to me that the names I mentioned are "American" thank you, i was not keeping score, merely inspired by what they had to say about human rights and freedom, and I felt that as Newnkeng is in Berlin and is of African descent (I presume) he would feel a certain affinity with them........................

Forgive me if I am wrong..................................
