I think I'm a better person for the relationships that I've had. I don't consider them all failures either. I've learned from each one, and I've known and loved some amazing people.

Hi dana don't think of it as failure if as you say you learn from it, have been times when have found the pain of breaking up difficult to cope with
I definitely feel it is better to have loved and lost. I think that a person who never loves is missing one of the best feelings in the world (for it IS all about feelings, really). Also, if someone never loves, perhaps they are emotionally incapable of loving, and I think that would be a sad and lonely existence. Yep...I've loved and lost (eventually) but when love was alive it was amazing and I'm glad I've experienced it.
I for one am not to sure that it was worth it to be honest, I have felt the euphoria of love and the joy of being loved and like most people the pain of losing that love. for me the pain is something I remember far more clearly than the love, and often wonder if I want to risk that again.

Hi vonny, although i did learn things from it but as you say i remember the pain vividly and don't think i could go thro that feeling again. I think the longer you are on your own the harder it is to let someone in again

morganlee: Just been talking to a friend and this came up. Just interersted in what others think ?
Oh better to have loved and lost, as long as it doesn't involve loosing everything in the bank at the same time.
Sounds cynical but some people are after everything they can get......and as far as i am concerned i would rather holiday in Basra during an artillery assault than date another woman like that.
