Was just asked a personal question and I thought get other people's thoughts on the matter. The question is love at first site real. Can you love someone before you even met them. And if it is will it last if it is true or does it fade? Thanks!

If you have never met them then how can it be love at first sight...you can really enjoy emailing and chatting on the phone and its normally the good banter you share thats a little attractive...i dont think that can be called love..

I think that it happens and it is true and never fades away if it is meant to be.I know that I have had it once and I am having it again in my life.Love at first sight does happen with the person you are truly meant to be with.

I think perhaps people can love the idea of being/falling in love with another.

The idea of loving someone we know so little about is kinda dangerous. Where's the motive coming from? Is it simply to sate some need we have within us and for us?

Hi Detente wave i was just going to write the same thing! Your only seeing one side of a person from behind a computer screen, the side they want to portray unspoken language is important to. Think an attraction to what you see can happen easily, and yes easy to set one's self up to be hurt. jmo

Love at first sight is real and it has a tendency to perdure, regardless of whether or not it actually develops; it happened to me once, and it was not possible to go further because of circumstances, but I grew to admire and respect him and yes I adored him; I have no idea if he even knew.... blushing

Its a matter of personal opinion to me. I dont believe in it, but I have known some people who do.
It seems a little too childish and "fairy tale" to me but many people want to believe in the fairy tale so love at first site is part of that fairy tale belief.
Make your own choices I suggest, but always follow your heart.kiss teddybear teddybear banana

Yep I agree with you Morgan.. I think it's lust and desire.. those come before love happens I don't believe in love at first sight.

Lust yep! Desire Yep! Love no!..

Thats 'grows' imo.

I kinda believe in it... but not completely.. .I think you can start falling in love with someone at first sight.. but love needs time, proximity and attention to grow.. the one and only person who I can say I truly loved.. was an example of that.. the first time I met him it honestly felt like there was nobody else in the room... but I wouldn't say I really fell in love until I had spent some quality time with him and got to know him better.. its more than just physical too.. IMO... it feels almost spiritual (which I know sounds a little silly) but it does... like a connection... I still have very fond feelings for this person and if he ever needed me I wouldn't hesitate and be there for him... hug teddybear
