There's a raccoon in the dumpster, and he/she won't get out...Tried to make it go in a live trap, but wouldn't budge...any ideas that are worth trying?

just put a long board in there.. it will climb out
rasgumby: just put a long board in there.. it will climb out
I made it a friggin stairway basically with cardboard etc...all he/she has to do is jump from one to the other - it goes up up up...won't do it....tried to push it in the live trap with a hockey stick, thing just hissed, snorted and clawed and pulled...then rolled up into a ball and went to sleep....I could even climb out of that friggin dumpster...I wonder if she's preggers?
X5323601: Spray a bunch of air freshener in there, it will vacate quickly
thank you for not saying what I feared you would.... I'll try that tomorrow is he/she is still there...poor baby...never saw one so scared...and tired...
OMG! so a little raccoon trouble eh? so damed funny, this was out of the blue and so refreshing of an idea for a thread thanks gf, ok check this crazy idea out, I was told that animals like the coon are into the smell of things, as we all know coons LOVE trash, so 1.know that if you get it out something has to be done about it returning and causing the same problem, hence you and your hockey stick game you played with itAnnnyway, the smell thingy yes forgot where the hell I was oh well nice break in the day, the smell is a big factor so therefore take talc power and sprinkle it all around, do it slowly as to not allow any to get in her airways, if it is a she and I am thinking she is setting up shop and not to sell trash bags, so hurry to do this otherwise she might not find a good spot for her to have her babies at, go on scoot

I've watched her/him all day today..can't see her at night cuz I don't have a flashlight..will have to wait til morning...trash doesn't get picked up til Tuesday...I didn't hurt her with the hockey stick, I just pushed her a bit, she's such a chunky thing, and strong and stubborn....I feel like going in there and just picking her up...I value my skin though...and my eyes..and nose...
Racoons are nocternal..dont move a lot in the daytime. But he should have climbed out if able,, something tells me that he is really sick or something. Racoons do not play dead. if feeling normal.. they fight their ground and run.. if that is the case.. call animal control to come get it out, they will take it to a vet or haul it out to the woods.
X5323601: Raccoons taste pretty much like chicken except a little gamy
well, someone wanted to come over and kill it and take the pelt, but I wouldn't let that happen because she is trapped and it isn't fair. If she was runnin' free, I wouldn't mind so much, but not like that.

Jokes aside, fill the dumpster with air freshener and make sure the little guy has an easy way out... It will do the trick...
around here all we got is the humane society...not sure what they will do if anything. I already called them today and they told me about the board....they said she would leave...I won't be able to sleep tonight..until I know...
