How do you behave when you are alone???? ( Archived) (29)

Usually when we are in the company of others, we mind our manners and our p's & q's especially when eating.

What about when you are all alone?? Do you still mind your table manners? or do you put your elbows on the table,do you even still eat at a table?, keep your napkin on your lap, chew with your mouth open, etc.

What about belching & farting?? If no one is around to hear or smell, do you let 'er rip? or do you still try to maintain SOME modicum of self control?

If you are not going anywhere on a day off & not expecting anyone to come by, do you get dressed? or do you sit around in your jammies or underwear all day?

Inquiring minds want to know.

When I'm alone, I usually eat standing up, never chew with my mouth open. As for belching and farting, it's human, I'm sure everyone does it...I get dressed most times, sometimes I sluff off. I can be very entertaining when I am alone....that is the biggest problem

I live alone, and i am alone for the msot part of the week. So:


i put my elbows on the table anyway, not just when i am alone. I also hold the fork with the right hand and the knife with the left. Napkin? whats that? maybe a paper one, next to my plate... i could never understand this savoir vivre stuff and i do not want to understand them... most people that know me say that i am quite a gentleman with very good manners, even if i do not follow suit with these stuff. At home, i am the same...


No, i do not belch and fart; Often.


If i am not going anywhere in the day, i stay home in my jumpers - much more comfy outfit. I do not own or use pijamas, i sleep either in my boxers or, if it is very cold, in my sport clothes. So, if i am alone around the house, that's what i am wearing usually.

Yeah I eat standing up too...never eat in bed though..hate the crumbs..oh I do drink out of the OJ bottle...not when my mum visits though..she still slaps me.

Yes any man that demands a meal in bed...he best not be expecting food.

I wear work clothes when I am home alone and if not chastised for it I will wear them everywhere. (A cleaner and slightly better version of what I wear to work in).

(In my work I get covered in paint and wood splinters and dust and such, so no point destroying good clothes).

I rarely eat at at table when alone because my table is often the assistant to a work in progress and I have schedules. Food stays in the kitchen.

I never slouch around alone in pj's or nightwear, never did it in my life so won't start now, besides which I have people call at all hours to get their back fixed or see the progress of something I am working on.

I think I am too well conditioned to let my guard slip regarding manners even when alone too. (Quite repressed really aren't I?).

I'm more likely to relax my rules in company than when I am alone, in that, I might take my time to get dressed...
