HMMMMMMMMMMM...My choice would be to never call back!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would ignore it at first. People are often too busy thinking of what they're going to say, and not listening to what you're saying. This just makes them residents of the 21st "Sound-bite" Century. But, if it were to continue, I'd start thinking they might just be stupid...

WELL, he just called me and I answered the phone..... he wanted to know what I was doing...... Told him I was a little confused.... He wanted to know why and I told him that I was not sure if he really meant to leave me a message of if he was trying to call Marge. The phone went real quite...... He then started back pedaling....... Told him I had to go.....

Well noew he has left me another message apologizing profusly, Indicated he was very nervous yesterday when he met me and he truely is bad with names and he really didn't know what else to say......but please not to be mad at himmmmmm....
My question is, if you've just met, what entitles you to have any sort of attitude?
He is who he is, you are who you are. This might not be compatible, but it's not your place to judge him as a person. I'd say it's too soon to start getting angry about anything. If you are, its baggage, it has nothing to do with the present.

I wouldn't have bothered to mention it in the first place, but since you did, I would call him and make a joke of it and let him up--see where it goes
