can i get kids screened for cancer (6)

Sorry to hear your sad news.I dont know about screening. Maybe the best person to speak to is the consultant who is treating yur kids dad.

hiya jinty, was it the same type of cancer that they all had? becouse if it was then im sure that they would do tests to find if your kids have any cells,and would make it easyer for them to locate it if they have,

I agree with the answers so far. If it's the same type of cancer, it could be hereditary so worth having a word with the consultant or your GP even if just to bring you peace of mind.Some cancers most commonly develop later in life though so I'm not sure how they would go about testing your children as they are still young.
I used to do voluntary work at an hospice 20 years ago when my mum was a patient there and the general message there was that most cancers are not hereditary but a lot of research has been done since then as to the exact causes of cancer so I really don't know for sure.
I hope you get manage to get this sorted out soon
thanks guys not sure what exs dads cancer was as he didnt really know him and i never met him we just got told he had died of cancer a few mths after his mum she had lung cancer and so might their dad its either lung or lymphoma should find out tonight thanks again xx
