kitty01: Yesterday evening some teens started a fire in our back yard in the garbage can. The can burned to the ground and the thing is this is the fifth time they have tried. Last week three times phone books were thrown into the can and set fire but ended up going out. This time they susceeded and the can melted to the ground.
The thing is I had moved the can away from the house and they had moved the can back to in front of the window and we did not hear them.

put some firecrackers in it, I'm sure they'd be hanging about watching their work, they'd piss their pants once the firecrackers started going off

I have a surefire way of catching them.To the side of the bin pile 3 kegs of beer which cannot be moved.They will drink the lot then you can go out and scoop up whats left and phone the police.
Failing that claymore mines are really effective

You could get a motion detection camera to put out there. They're fairly inexpensive and you can catch the kids red handed and turn it over to the Mounties.
I like the firecracker idea too but that could be a bit dangerous and get you into trouble

I believe the teens today are worse than in my day especially the way they talk back, have you heard them on the bus.
If these are the same ones they have also spray painted over the sides of the townhouses and set other fires at a school. We do not know why they are targeting us.

Can find the cameras in any sporting goods dept at stores like Wal-Mart or Bass Pro Shops
I rather like the idea of firecrackers. Make 'em think someone is shooting at them

update
tonight they set the large dumpster on fire that is right behind us and the toy box we have in the yard.
others came forward and told on them and were warned to stay away from this complex or will be arrested.

They should find another place for a 'bon fire.' Kids just want to hang out with each other. It's wrong what they did. In my small part of the world, they have a park and the cops let them cuz they all met, worked out the safety issues and it's a meeting place. I'm sure they're doing other stuff to but kids are kids.
