I predict that at the 11th hour, just before the general election, there will be another full scale "TERRORIST" attack that will make 9/11 look like a walk in the park.
At that time, the president will evoke the executive order to cancel
the election and the administration will remain in power.
And don't tell me they won't have anything to do with the attacks either.

Just passing by this entry and thought I'd comment . I don't normally feel the need to comment on things like this but this one I do. Don't know where the writer went to school but his education certainly didn't include American History. For your information Raymond it's constitutionally impossible for George Bush to remain president after January 20, 2009. It doesn't matter what condition the country is in - war, famine, global warming emergency, Condi bad hair day, - nothing will prevent either McCain or Obama from taking office. Lastly, Bush cannot issue an executive order to cancel the election..Again, it's constitutionally mandated. Dayummm, I hate to respond to nonsense like this but I have way too much time on my hands tonite .

You are Correct in stating that it is Contitutionally impossible.

But... You are WRONG!

The PATRIOT ACT gives the President the power to declare
MARTIAL LAW, and remain in Power in the event of a National Emergency or National Disaster, thus, he may cancel the election.

Only a senario. It could happen any time before he leaves office, even if another candidate wins the election, he would remain in power until the Emergency situation is resolved.

Many are believing a senario such as Raymond has proposed, just may take place. Some are even betting on it!

We will just have to wait and see, won't we?peace

Once again the Patriot Act that passed thru the elected legislative branch of our government reveals its insidious side. this is only one of those rights given to the president in order to save time in reacting to any form of crisis or emergency foreign, domestic, real or imagined or purposely created.

Regardless of who gets the office of president next you can be certain neither one of them will work on getting these new executive powers rescinded....

and class do you know why the next president does not want to go back to the way things where.

You are absolutely wrong. Patriot Act has nothing to do with circumventing the Constitution which is exactly what you've described. I've read some of your previous Ron Paul "commercials". Think you need to have your meds rechecked by your pharmacist for potency.

Oh dear... another conspiracy theory.

I think I made a wrong turn in life and should have opened up a store selling blinders for people. Seems everyone is wearing them these days! I could be rich! (sorry, I'm a republican, what did you expect?)
