I've never used any sort of diet pills. I have hower heard of hoodia its a plant that in Africa is used to cure an upset stomache. I don't think the diet pills contain hoodia though.
crotalus_p: Not worth it unless your diet / training is spot on even then any of the over the counter stuff (in Ireland ) will not make much of a difference sorry
Thanks a mil...currently dieting and excercising like a mad person..reaching a plateau...after 9 months...so looking for something to kick start things again..Changed excerise routine etc but I heard about Hoodia and was gonna give em a shot!!

Eat a Mediterranean diet, and drink plenty of water and do regular exersise and you'll have weight fall off gently and it will stay off.
Mind you if you want an express way to loose weight walk into a respiratory wing of a hospital and sit near people with pneumonia, i absolutely guarantee you'll loose weight!
If it works for her....not so much a fad then is it
Same as weight watchers works for some. Jenny Craig for others Nutrisystem for yet others Atkins for the extremely disciplined
The key is to find what works and do it.
As for the plateau....I've been on one myself. I know part of the reason is because I've been fudging a little, which is a good thing because it shows that once I get to where I want to be I should be able to fudge a little and not gain.....I've also slacked off a little on the workouts...of course it's summer so I've switched to working out in the mornings, which doesn't give me much time to vary my routine because I have to get to work on time (I don't like working out in the heat). Once cooler weather sets back in I'll be able to ramp it up again after work. But for now, as long as I'm maintaining, it's a good thing. So don't beat yourself up Ella...oh yeah, and you might want to make sure that you're taking in at least 1,200 calories a day...any less than that isn't good for you (as found in the Weight-Loss Bible by Betsy A. Hornick, M.S., R.D....as in registered dietitian).

Shame on you Robbie...lol That should only be wished on your enemies.
I'm no expert but i have been on a diet for the past couple of weeks for digestion problems rather than to lose weight but i have lost a bit of weight. I'm not allowed to have any dairy products, only red meat once a week and can't eat bread or anything with wheat in it. You could always give that a go....
Ella27: Only recently started eating brekkie..Special K
Switch to either oatmeal or shredded wheat these are the only two serials you allowed to buy everything else is way over processed , (oatmeal is not readybrek it is 100% oats)
What I like to do in the morning is blend oatmeal with eggs , some cinnamon and some baking powder then I cook it as an omelette it comes out like a pancake type thing , normally I do 600g egg whites and 100g oats but you will need to figure out how much you need based on you calorie requirements for the day (minus 500 cal’s which will mean 1lb weight loss per week)
Mid morning snack I normally have some chicken or a protein shake
In response to: Lunch..brown bread sambo...or wrap
No bread no wrap , have some lean meat veg (Deli/processed meat is not lean)
Mid afternoon same as mid morning
In response to: Dinner...1 WW meal, or...2 eggs and 2 slices of WW bread..yogurt (low fat)
Get rid of everything ww , Dinner should be lean meat and veg or a veg omelette ,
In response to: Drink bout 2 litres of water per day...3 mugs of coffee
add at least another L and no sugar or milk in the coffee
coffee Is thermogenic (it increases the metabolism)
In response to: Exercise..1 hours power walking 4 days per week
Let me put it this way power walking is better than nothing
In response to: I penalise myself by not eating lunch......
Bad Idea very bad that will put you body into starvation mode , You need to divide your daily calorie allowance up into 5-7 meals so that you can eat every 2.5-3 hours this keeps the metabolism revving
In response to: I dunno where I'm going wrong..also started Vibro Plate 3 days per week.
Don’t bother with the Vibro Plate If you can pay for Vibro Plate you can pay for a gym membership
In response to: ...jusr complete 17 weeks of Salsa dancing..
Sound's to me like you finshed time to start 17 more weeks
Every meal should have protein in it , there is no better diet in the world for dropping body fat than “high protein, moderate-low fat and low carbs , you do need to eat some fats if you don’t your body will simply store fat because it thinks it’s not going to get any more , I leave the egg yokes (good fats) out at breakfast simply because I go to the gym straight after , your highest calorie meal schould be breakfast, carbs should be tapered off threw out the day (ie most of them should come from breakfast oats) , normally I have a tub of cottage cheese before going to bed , it’s slow acting protein help to stave off the dreaded starvation mode during the night
There is so much info (carb cycling ,calorie cycling and so forth ) I cant type it all out if you want send me a pm and I will send you a link to some sites that can help (I don’t want to post links on the forum)
I certainly wouldn't go down the road of taking diet pills though. Maybe I'm being over cautious here but i think thats just asking for trouble. If you have never tried them before, you really don't know how addictive they can be.....JMO
