The sack burns down to the water line and goes out. Then boil your eggs, peas,beans.....etc......Just keep the water level up. Don't try to move the sack it is floppy and you will spill your water. Not good on an electric stove! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzap!

Never heard of such a thing. I'm no science whizz, I don't really understand how it would work.
The flash point of paper is about 400 degrees. water boils no more than 212 degrees....the water keeps the paper it touches cool. If water is under pressure like a pressure cooker it will get hotter that 212 degrees to boil. But without a lid.....only 212 degree no matter how high the fire.
Water depth will make a diffence in water temp at the bottom because of the weight of the water. This is why water in a tall glass of water microwaved will explode when moved even after the microwave is stopped. Never used tall slender things to cook in the microwave.
