I was just wandering if any of you could tell me what to google up to find out what could be wrong with my back, or do any of you have an Idea?
I've had been working doing concrete work for about 9 months, until about a month ago when I quit, because of my back I thought I could give it a rest and than go back to work . But the pain is still there..
The problem is last three months I worked, every morning I would have to curl up into a ball for about two hours before, I could get up and bend down, and go to work and work 15 hrs. a day 4- 5days a week. I thought it was just a pulled muscle or something and that it would work itself out eventually. but even not working, the pain is still there. It is the very lowest part of my back on my left side, anytime I lay flat or on my side longer than 20 mins it like it freezes up on me and it takes at least a half hour before I can bend down again, the longer I sleep the worse it feels in the morning, and the longer it takes to get stretched out, and there has been several times when picking my daughter up in the morning where it actually drops the to my knees. I hate paying doctor bills so I haven't went yet, But I probably will this week But I'm just curious if any of you might have an idea what it could be or if it might be something serious, or what would I be able to google up to help me figure it out.

Ouch! Tater, that's awful. Obviously you need to see a doctor - but I would first go to a chiropractor for this. Sometimes you are just out of whack and they can help. The cost is far less. I know many are against chiropractors, but I can tell you they have helped me MANY times when physical therapy and traditional things did NOTHING...

Sounds very much like a bulging or ruptured disk. The disk is pushing against nerves. I have it unfortunately. Gentle exercise over time to build up back and stomach muscles is all I could do to help it. But then I am not having to do hard labor, which in your case my not help it. You will have good and bad days with it from now on. Physical theraphy is about the only answer next to surgery , which only adds more to the problem later.

chiropractor!
My bro in law had the same prob. went thru years of shots and pain until one day he decided to take my advice and he is now playing golf again, something he thought he would never do again. Takes a little time, but the results are long lasting.

Only a good gentle chiropractor. Many of them just aggravate a disk , they really did a bad job on my neck, I didnt get better until I started taking care of it with gentle stretches , things a good chiropractor told me to do.
BTW... It's entirely possible it is a disk problem and you would certainly need a doctor, and possibly a microsurgeon, but FIRST see the chiropractor...
I could be a herniated disc - pinching on your sciatic nerve - only a MRI can tell tho. Mine was on the right side - similar symptoms - dr can give anti-inflammatory and pain meds. But .... bottom line - if you've had it this long - you really should consult a dr. Good luck.
Tater You probably strained your lower back from lifting to much. I have a bad back too caused by a auto accident and if I lift to much or sit or lay in one position to long my lower back becomes very painful and tightens up.
Maybe you do need to go to a doctor to see what's going on.
Does your work required to wear a back brass like they wear at Home Depot?

But find one people recommend, cause some aren't the best.

try webmd.com there you can put oin your symptoms, and see what it tells you. A great site for preliminary knowledge of a condition, yet nothing beats an actual doctor visit. Doesn't your daughter deserve to be picked up? JUST DO IT! JMO
Well, thank you all very much and I will google those sites up, I did kinda doubt that it was a muscle, because, I have always done physical labor from welding railroad cars for 4 yrs to framing houses, so I guess I kinda figured that my back was in too good of shape and strong to have a muscle bother me this long.
Thanks again for all of your advice, I appreciate it.....
