I would never allow myself to be in an abusive situation in the first place.

Cause the first time a man ever hit me he'd better darn well make it his best shot cause it would be his very last time.

its a bummer to hear women be kind of, flip? about this issue

there is no reason a woman should feel shame for staying
nor is anyone better than

it happens sometimes to the least likely candidates

this kind of judgemental attitude and simplifying is sometimes a factor that causes the victim to feel responsible and not tell anyone or ask for help

Whilst it is commendable that you were protecting your friend, how does violence solve violence?

Well, first off it wasn't my friend that was being hit, my friend, he was doing the hitting. In my eyes the only way to stop an atrocity is to do whatever it takes, especially if it involves children. Period. You are entitled to your opinion though, I'm not attempting to disprove anything, only a bit of sharing or perhaps connecting.

Apparently, you've never been in that situation before...it is not as easy to "get out" or whatever you seem to think scold

question is if you are in a abusive relationship wat would u do?

I gave my honest opinion on what I would do.

I'll just say this, have been on the inside and the outside of the situation. If you want out, there's always a way. If someone isn't ready, you can't make em leave. Best thing for the OP to do in this situation is to let the woman know what her options are and be supportive. Then stay outta it. Some women aren't open to being helped, if you try to get between her and the abusive man, she's likely to take his side. When she's ready, she'll find a way. You're sweet to care coolie, but if someone doesn't care for themselves, they're not going to let you do it. hug
