See, now you have the right attitude.
You can belong to all kinds of social groups, etc, but that does not mean you will meet your special person in there. Meeting anyone, takes patience, on line or off line.
Meet the most of the frogs now, later one, you will have sifted through them, and move up to the better one.

I spend a few hours a week being a volunteer and have coffee with my neighbour and that is about it.
Working with someone to get my stories send to a publisher and that is about all.

He was still mourning a girlfriend of five years that he just like that, found on a dating scene.
She never told him.
