Needs and Wants... when it comes to a relationship with the opposite sex. ( Archived) (70)

Needs are requirements, these are non-negotiable, must haves.

Wants are, it'd be nice if they had, but without it would not rule out the possiblity of a relationship.

what are some of yours ? anyone feel like sharing these with the CS'ers in the forum?

No expectations, no requirements, except I like him and he likes me. Why make it a whole lot more complicated than that?

I need all the time and I want it all

Children grown(no rug rats), grandkids are cool they can be returned to their parents.

Mental stability, if I want nuts, I'll purchase them at a store.

Must still want/enjoy physical intimacy. I do so they should also I think.

A certain amount of honesty towards me, I've no intention of confessing all my sins to them, nor would I expect them too either. If they can not decipher what the difference is... :(

these are my primary needs to consider beginning a relationship.


My wants...theres a list that is long.

In the non-physical arena, I ask only for three things in a relationship. First and foremost is honesty. In words and action. Second they must be ultra liberal in their thinking. And lastly, I cannot abide a racist.

On the physical, or s*xual agenda. They must love affection. For all the cold heartedness I portray, I am really a very affectionate man. I value the hugging and cuddling on the sofa, as much as the intercouse in the bed...or on the dining room table, or the kitch....oh!, Where was I
Seriously, the closeness and the day long foreplay is as important to me and more intimate than bedroom antics. Looks and body style aren't as important as closeness

I like to think and have on occasion seen how being in a relationship has escalated ones happiness, self esteem and drive to accomplish, whereas also too I've seen where a relationship has suffocated ones drive and happiness. it could it be they placed more emphasis on their wants instead of needs as a person?
