cristina:

I did not get the "old man" part, did it happen to you or are you criticizing my post about "retiring"? If so, i'm sorry, it was meant to be positive. Much older, wiser

No, no, no dear lady...

Here in the US, Old man & Old lady are slang some use to refer to their husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend... I just cannot understand why anyone that claims to love another would refer to them in this manner.. Just "my" opinion of course....sigh

A cheating ex husband in Brisbane, but I am not divorced as yet. In the process of trying but lets just say some people don't know how to let go.

Actually, I could honestly say that I got MARRIED for the wrong reason. I was pregnant & my grandmother's first response was, "When are you getting married?" So I tried to "do the right thing". Our minister had told us that marriage was not 50/50, it's 100/100. You both have to give it your all. I was giving 200% & he was giving nothing. He was an abusive alcoholic. I put up with it for far too long. But I decided that I wasn't going to raise my daughter in the same kind of environment I was raised in. And the cycle has to stop somewhere... I decided it would be with me. I have no regrets of leaving my sad excuse of a husband or marriage. And my friends & family cheered me on! thumbs up

That was 17 years ago & I've never looked back. We tried to be friends once, when he'd quit drinking for a bit. But he eventually went back to it. Sad how someone can let themselves be dictated by the bottle & choose that over their own child. He always made sure he had booze in the fridge over making sure his daughter was provided for.

Am I bitter?? Not at all!! devil
