bodleing: If soul is the purposiveness of life, the investment by nature in the individual, then is spirit the energy, the libdo, the eros for the journey?

When the ego suffers hurt, we may become dispirited, lose the energy for the journey. If we say he's a spirited person, are we not usually talking of someone who's ego drives them forward. I think spirit and ego are intrinsically bound together.
Having a Spirit is living life to the fullest. It means enjoying what time God has given us. Having a spirit to me means taking hold of what is important and looking at the world not through a tunnel but with your eyes wide open.
Having a Soul is having an inner you that can break. Having a Soul means gives us feelings. Feelings of living and saddness when dying. The Soul can burn in hell, whereas the Spirit lives on.

tipaly81: I believe he said eros, which is love - greek right? I don't know about the whole soul and spirit thing.
Nobody on earth does, only some try to act like they do, or waste time trying to figure out something that's beyond our comprehension. Actually, both are just words that humans made up, so I guess we can define them however we like. I think they're pretty much different names for the same thing. or are so intertwined it'd be hard to distinguish one from the other. In the grand scheme of things, what difference does it really make?

Yeah, I understand the whole age-old discussion about where does the soul reside, and what is the soul and spirit. I have a degree in history, all we did was read the many arguments that the "great thinkers" had over the subject.
The only problem with their discussions was that they talked themselves into circles and used words and grammer that did not make sense. We are still trying to move intellectual-ness into the present day and translate it into the current vernacular.

In terms of energies ... I feel that when the ego suffers hurt, negative energies are released, they are the ones that slow you down and make you feel like you have "lost energy for the journey". The ego suffering hurt is usually self-inflicted because it's about perception.
Often, people do or say things to others that is more of a reflection of where themselves are at. If the person who it's directed at responds with ego, they will take it as a personal slight and react angrily allowing the negative energy of the other person in. A hurt ego will take far longer to forgive and move on than a hurt soul/spirit because they have first to work out and understand where the hurt comes from and forgive themselves their own anger before being able to forgive someone else.
Someone who is spirited doesn't have to be someone who is ego driven ... It could be someone who passionately believes in something and immerses themselves into it ... If they were ego driven they would want recognition for it ... If not they wouldn't care about recognition ...
Spirit energy lives on ... ego doesn't ... Some people are able to let go of ego in this life time!!!

All of the above IMHO of course!!!
Nice and I agree...Don't take anything personal and focus on the things you can control to create a good vibration so you can attract like vibrations....
