kkitty4u: what do you think makes a person very intelligent?
They have finally decided intelligence comes in flavours. You can be socially intelligent while you don't know a bit about adding numbers together.
I have a high linguistic intelligence (no, I am not a master speller or grammer wiz-kid ) and can easily pick up and learn a new language, good when programming computers too.
It does not say that I can converse easily to the people around me, even if I know what they say and how to answer.
To me "book learning" really doesn´t have a lot to do with intelligence. To me an intelligent person is someone who is open minded, continues to learn, who is able to grasp new ideas and solve problems.
Well this is kinda hard to answer because for me, intelligence is how "Real" is someone? Are they a deep thinker? Do they comprehend how things all work together in one way or another? Intelligence via dictonary means nothing other then they have a good memory. It doesn't keep someone from being shallow, stereo typing, judgemental, selfish, ignorant ect... You have to have a beautiful mind and heart for me to think you are intelligent. Because these people understand what means the most in life.
Because theses are the same qualities that I look for in someone, I would not be interested in someone who didn't possess these qualities.

do you think that a person is less intelligent if they do not know the meaning of every word in the dictionary?
if you consider yourself very intelligent would you date someone with less knowledge than yourself?
I think a person's wisdom, choices and level of understanding makes them intelligent.
No, I don't think a person is less intelligent if they don't know the meaning of every word in the dictionary. Depends how they use the words they know when they express themselves on all levels.
I date anybody who I feel a connection with. It has nothing to do with intelligence. Besides, everybody is intelligent and gifted in their own way. It's just a matter if they are aware of their strengths.

nolovefool: Sorry to say, but I had two relations where she was deep. Both led to depression, blame for things I did not see even coming after she spelled it out.
Too deep is too deep to reach.
A little shallow giggle does not hurt to make life feel good imho.
She may have been "deep" as you say but she did not understand the real meaning of life. To appreciate the little things people take for granted. Such as family, friends, the beauty of nature, fire red sunsets reflecting on calm waters on warm evenings. A simple smile, from a complete stranger. Perhaps if she appreciated these things in life more, she would not have been depressed. She didn't see what the world had to offer her unfortuantely.

That is easily done digging too deep into your own mind. I am new here but I see some digging going on here too.
Sure, sitting by the sea, feeling the sun cool off and hearing the birds head out to catch up with the fishermen. Thinking about the small and good in life, that is deep too. My kind of deep, and I understand what you meant too.

if you consider yourself very intelligent would you date someone with less knowledge than yourself?
knowledge is power, and power is money. I'd side with knowledge, but would date someone who is not as inteilligent. The heart does not know knowledge, it knows feelings, and that is far better than all the money in the world.
